During her session, Bhumi emphasized the need for gender equality to achieve true sustainability, urging for greater female representation in key decision-making roles. She also shared her personal journey as a climate warrior, encouraging collective action to combat environmental challenges.
Talking about women empowerment, Bhumi shared, "Girls, have an opinion. It's so important to have a voice. And individuals that have an opinion and a voice make people uncomfortable and you will constantly be pushed into a corner. You will constantly be told, 'be quiet. Oh, you're too big for your shoes, she's such a big problem maker. She has an opinion on everything.' It's fine. That's the only way you will bring about a change. And we all are a part of this society, everything that impacts somebody else's household, somebody else's daughter, is going to impact you as well.
You know, there's a line in my film, Bhakshak, where I tell my partner, that if someone else's daughter is being mistreated, our daughter will also be mistreated. So it's time that we all truly come together and make sure that a change happens and a change happens now."
Bhumi's powerful message reinforced her support and advocacy for empowering women and building a sustainable future for the next generation.
