Actor Allu Arjun expressed his deep sorrow and pledged ₹25 lakh in financial assistance to the family of a woman who tragically died in a stampede during the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule at Sandhya Theatre, Hyderabad. The woman's son, who was critically injured in the incident, will also receive full medical support from the actor.

A Heartfelt Reaction

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Allu Arjun wrote: 'Deeply heartbroken by the tragic incident at Sandhya Theatre. My heartfelt condolences go out to the grieving family during this unimaginably difficult time. I want to assure them they are not alone in this pain and will meet the family personally. While respecting their need for space to grieve, I stand committed to extend every possible assistance to help them navigate through this challenging journey.'

The actor also released a video in Telugu, where he expressed his shock and extended his sympathies to the bereaved family, calling the financial assistance a goodwill gesture to help secure their future.

Police Case Filed

Following the tragedy, the Hyderabad Police filed a case against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the Sandhya Theatre management. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Akshansh Yadav, the charges include culpable homicide not amounting to murder and voluntarily causing hurt.

The case was registered at the Chikkadpally Police Station based on a complaint by the deceased woman's husband. The police highlighted that neither the theatre management nor Allu Arjun's team had informed authorities about his planned visit, and no additional crowd management or security measures were implemented.

Details of the Incident

On December 4, 35-year-old Revathi and her 13-year-old son Sri Tej felt suffocated due to overcrowding in the theatre. Police officers on duty promptly rescued them and performed CPR on the boy before rushing both to Durgabai Deshmukh Hospital. Unfortunately, Revathi was declared dead upon arrival, while her son was shifted to another hospital for better treatment.

Allu Arjun's Appeal to Fans

Addressing the incident, Allu Arjun emphasized the importance of safety during such events.

'We make films so that people can enjoy them in theatres, but I appeal to everyone to be cautious and prioritize safety.'

The tragic incident has cast a shadow over the release of Pushpa 2: The Rule, highlighting the need for better crowd management and safety protocols at large-scale public events.
