The teaser hints at another action-packed blockbuster in the making. It opens with a radio announcement about an impending cyclone as music director Anirudh Ravichander and director Nelson Dilipkumar are seen engaging in a lighthearted conversation in Goa, purportedly during a story discussion session.
Their comedic exchange takes an unexpected turn when chaos ensues. Random people enter the room only to be shot or stabbed, forcing Anirudh and Nelson to scramble for cover. Amid the pandemonium, a hazy figure of Rajinikanth makes a dramatic entrance, systematically eliminating the remaining intruders. As he exits the room, a grenade is hurled inside, and outside, Rajinikanth takes on a new wave of powerful adversaries.
In awe of the spectacle, Anirudh exclaims to Nelson, “This looks fearsome, Nelsa! Let’s make this into a film!”

As with the original Jailer, Jailer 2 will feature music by Anirudh Ravichander and direction by Nelson Dilipkumar. The first installment was a massive success, grossing an impressive 650 crores worldwide and earning rave reviews from fans and critics alike.

Jailer, which marked a significant milestone in Rajinikanth’s career, set the box office ablaze with its opening. Overseas distributor Ayngaran International reported that the film made a staggering 33 crores on its first day alone—the highest for any Rajinikanth movie.
The film boasted a star-studded cast, including Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar, Bollywood’s Jackie Shroff, and Telugu actor Sunil. Other prominent names included Ramya Krishnan, Vinayakan, Tamannaah, Vasanth Ravi, and Yogi Babu. Anirudh’s music and Vijay Kartik Kannan’s cinematography further elevated the movie’s appeal.
Expectations for Jailer 2
