Medical Update on Saif Ali Khan
According to doctors at Lilavati Hospital, Saif Ali Khan will be discharged by Tuesday afternoon. However, they have advised the actor to take adequate rest for the next few days to ensure a full recovery.
On January 16, Khan was stabbed multiple times while attempting to fight off a burglar during the early hours of the morning. The actor sustained six stab wounds, two of which were particularly serious as they were located near his spine.
Details of the Attack
The incident occurred at approximately 2:15 AM when an intruder forced entry into the Khan residence in Bandra. The burglar initially attacked the house help before turning on Saif when he intervened.
Media reports state that doctors successfully removed a 2.5-inch knife from one of his wounds during surgery. Following the procedure, the actor was moved to the ICU, and as of now, he is out of danger. On January 20, the medical team decided to keep him under observation for an additional day before clearing him for discharge.
Mumbai Police’s Investigation
Mumbai police have arrested the accused in Thane and confirmed that he is a Bangladeshi national who had illegally entered India. The attacker, identified as Mohammed Shehzad, was once a national-level wrestling champion in Bangladesh before relocating illegally.
Shehzad claimed in his statement that he was unaware of Saif Ali Khan’s celebrity status at the time of the attack. His statement aligns with that of a rickshaw driver, who transported the injured actor to the hospital but did not recognize him. The rickshaw driver further revealed that Khan’s elder son, Taimur, accompanied him to the police station following the attack.
Family Presence During the Incident
At the time of the attack, Saif’s wife, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, along with other family members, was present in the house but remained asleep during the incident.
As the investigation progresses, fans and well-wishers continue to send their prayers for Saif Ali Khan’s speedy recovery.
