Set in the Kadamba period of Karnataka, “Kantara: Chapter 1” will delve into a crucial era of Indian history. The Kadambas were a powerful dynasty known for shaping the region’s architecture and culture, marking a golden age in Indian history.
The first installment, released in 2022, featured Rishab Shetty in a dual role as a Kambala champion clashing with a principled forest officer, Murali. The film was shot in Keradi, coastal Karnataka, with principal photography beginning in August 2021. Action sequences were choreographed by Vikram More, adding authenticity to the film’s high-intensity moments.
Massive Success of the Original ‘Kantara’
Kantara received critical acclaim for its compelling performances, direction, soundtrack, and unique portrayal of Bhuta Kola.
