After nearly a decade of waiting to reunite with her son, Baa is finally invited to Mumbai—only to realize she’s been called not for family time but to dog-sit while they vacation abroad. In the bustling chaos of the city and an unfamiliar home, Baa finds herself sharing space with Jenny, a mischievous dog she never wanted. What begins as irritation soon transforms into a surprising bond, as Baa discovers that love, comfort, and companionship can often be found in the most unexpected places.

Aachari Baa is a heartfelt celebration of self-discovery, second chances, and the quiet strength of those who deserve to be seen. Aachari Baa is a heartwarming tale of self-worth, second chances, and the quiet strength of those we often overlook. Streaming soon on JioHotstar.

Director Hardik Gajjar on the film’s essence, “This film is not only about the relationship between a grandmother and a dog—it is about the relationships which we leave behind in the pursuit of our own lives. We live in a world that moves fast, where priorities change, and where those who once held our hands and carried us on their shoulders sacrificing everything for themselves just to ensure a smooth successful future of their offsprings are often left waiting and longing for a mere call, a visit, or even a moment of acknowledgment. How bare minimum is now considered a leisure, hence, through humor, warmth, and deep emotions and soulful music, Aachari Baa reminds us to pause, to look back, and to truly see the people who have loved us unconditionally. I hope this film starts conversations, rekindles relationships, and makes us all a little more mindful of the love we often take for granted. I am thrilled to bring this heartfelt story to audiences through JioHotstar, a platform that ensures meaningful stories reach every home.”

Neena Gupta on playing Baa, said, “Baa is not just a character but she is a reflection of countless mothers and grandmothers who have given their whole lives to their families, only to find themselves alone in the end. She is strong, yet fragile. She is fierce, yet deeply vulnerable. She does not ask for much, just a little love, a little time, a little presence. When I read the script, it made me laugh and cry at the same time and I instantly knew I wanted to be a part of. This film is my way of reminding everyone that love should never be an afterthought. If you still have your parents or grandparents around, don’t wait for a ‘tomorrow’ to show them you care. I am grateful that JioHotstar is bringing this story to audiences everywhere, because it’s a message that needs to be heard.”

Kabir Bedi on the film’s shares, “Aachari Baa” is not just a film, it’s a wake-up call. It forces us to ask ourselves: When was the last time we truly listened to our parents? When was the last time we made them feel seen? I hope, for many watching on JioHotstar, it becomes a reminder to cherish the loved ones who once put us before themselves.

Vandana Pathak on the emotional core of the film, “The beauty of Aachari Baa is its simplicity—real moments, real emotions, real pain, real love and above all real friendship. This is a film that stays with you long after the credits roll because it speaks about something universal: fear of being forgotten. It is a story about longing, about finding unexpected companionship, pure friendship and about realizing that even when life pushes you aside, love has a way of bringing you back.I cannot wait for audiences to experience it on JioHotstar and feel its warmth!”

With a stunning performance by Neena Gupta, Aachari Baa is a film that will make you laugh, cry, and most importantly, reflect. Because in the end, love is not about grand gestures, it is about presence, about time, and about never letting the people who love us feel alone. Streaming soon on JioHotstar!
