Just a day before, the makers released the first look of Ajay Devgn as Amay Patnaik, reigniting excitement for the sequel. The Singham star shared his poster with the caption, “Naya Shehar. Nayi File. Aur Amay Patnaik Ki Ek Nayi Raid. #Raid2 knocking at your doors in cinemas near you on 1st May, 2025.” The intense poster hints at another high-stakes mission for the fearless IRS officer.

Raid 2: A Sequel Rooted in Real-Life Events

Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, Raid 2 also features Vaani Kapoor in a pivotal role. A follow-up to the 2018 blockbuster Raid, the film continues the gripping journey of IRS officer Amay Patnaik as he takes on another major white-collar crime. Much like its predecessor, the sequel draws inspiration from real-life income tax raids, depicting how officers from the Income Tax Department work alongside intelligence agencies to uncover and combat financial frauds.

The original Raid starred Ajay Devgn as Amay Patnaik, alongside Ileana D’Cruz and Saurabh Shukla in key roles, earning praise for its realistic portrayal of high-stakes investigations.

Raid 2 Production and Release Details

Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, and Krishan Kumar, Raid 2 is presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series in association with Panorama Studios. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on May 1, 2025.
