The dreamy, snow-covered setting of Saint Petersburg, Russia, brought their vision to life. The team chose this location after exploring places like Australia, London, and Eastern Europe.
Reminiscing about their directorial debut, writer-director duo Radhika and Vinay shared, “They say your first is always special and Lucky truly was. To have Salman Khan as part of our very first film was nothing short of magical. He’ll always be our forever favourite hero. It’s hard to believe it’s already been two decades since we shared a love story that touched so many hearts. The songs, the memories, the love, they still live on, and always will.”

The entire movie was filmed in a single 65-day schedule, showcasing their meticulous planning and cinematic discipline. From steam train engines of the Russian Railways to action scenes with real tanks, trucks, soldiers, and guns of the Russian army, every frame bore the signature of their grand, uncompromising vision.
The songs were filmed on the frozen Gulf of Finland, a location that holds car races in winter and boat races in summer.
One of the film’s most enduring legacies is its iconic music, where Radhika & Vinay introduced Adnan Sami as a film composer. Radhika & Vinay curated what is now considered a collector’s album, featuring an unmatched ensemble of voices including Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle, Anuradha Paudwal, Sonu Nigam, Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik, and Adnan Sami.
20 years on, Lucky No Time For Love remains a testament to the originality, vision, and creative brilliance of Radhika Rao & Vinay Sapru a film that brought together magic, music, and love on a scale rarely seen before or since.
