The evening felt like a cultural moment in the making – sleek, starry and undeniably sparkly! With Farah Khan, Raftaar, Tony Kakkar, Aparshakti Khurana, Gauahar Khan alongside husband Zaid Darbar, and others seen soaking up the atmosphere and promoting the show, streaming celebrities, digital creators, and entertainment insiders showed up in force, including Bhuvan Bam, Abhishek Kumar, Samarth Jurel, Shiv Thakare, Karan Kundrra, Rithvik Dhanjani, and Nia Sharma. The buzz was quick and loud, ranging from ecstatic responses during pivotal moments to post-screening conversations that illuminated timelines and group chats. The screening only cemented First Copy's status as the next OTT obsession, which is already being praised for its edgy storytelling, retro-cool aesthetic, and standout performances.
First Copy, which is rooted in nostalgia and directed with flair, tells the story of Arif, a Byculla boy with big dreams and bigger risks, who rises from petty crime to become the head of India's bootleg film industry. His world is rushing towards a dramatic conclusion as he tangles with dishonest officials, betrayed loyalties, Bollywood egos, and a tumultuous romance. Munawar Faruqui's fiery metamorphosis and the vintage swag brought in by industry icons Raza Murad and Gulshan Grover were the talk of the premiere audience. First Copy hasn't even launched yet, but already it's making waves with its captivating story and classic Bombay charm!
First Copy is available to stream exclusively on Amazon MX Player from 20th June, for free through its apps on mobile, Amazon’s shopping app, Prime Video, Fire TV, and Connected TVs.
