Speaking about what pulled him towards the project, Gagan Arora, who essays the role of Rohan, shared, “What really struck me about Lafangey was its authenticity. We’ve seen countless stories of bromance, fun, light-hearted, adventurous, but this one delves into something rarely spoken about: the quiet burden young men carry when they leave college. Overnight, you are expected to have it all figured out. If you don’t, you’re labelled a ‘Lafanga’. Even if no one says it out loud, that label lingers and you start to wear it.”
He further added, “I resonated with that deeply. I’ve been there myself. Coming from a middle-class background, I’ve felt the awkwardness of asking for money, the urgency of wanting to be independent, and the guilt of not ‘doing enough’. So for me, the preparation wasn’t just about the script-it was about digging into my own lived experiences. Conversations with the director and writers helped ground it all, but at its core, Lafangey is about bringing that truth to the surface. It’s a mirror to the silent struggles young men carry quietly.”
Lafangey is now available for free exclusively on Amazon MX Player, available through its apps on mobile, Amazon’s shopping app, Prime Video, Fire TV, and Connected TVs.
