Prithviraj Sukumaran reflects on the everyday sacrifices of the men and women in uniform and how often they go unnoticed. The actor, who plays an Army officer in the upcoming JioHotstar film Sarzameen, shared how his role made him relook at the quiet endurance of those who serve. “We get to live normal lives because someone else gives up theirs,” he said, adding that Sarzameen isn’t just about the uniform, but about what it costs. In the film, Prithviraj portrays Vijay Menon a respected officer wrestling with personal grief and emotional distance, offering a rare look at the vulnerabilities behind the valour.
Prithiviraj said, “Next time you see a service man or woman just go up to them and say, ‘Sir, Ma’am, thank you for your service.’ We go about our daily lives without thinking twice, because someone out there has taken on the responsibility of guarding our peace. These are people who miss out on birthdays, festivals, their children growing up just so we can live freely. It’s a sacrifice above all and we must acknowledge that.”
Directed by Kayoze Irani, Starring Kajol, Ibrahim Ali Khan & Prithviraj Sukumaran, Sarzameen will be exclusively streaming on JioHotstar from July 25th!
