Faissal had accused Aamir and other family members of destroying his physical, mental, and financial health, even alleging that he was forcibly confined and medicated for a year at Aamir’s home under claims of paranoid schizophrenia.
Family Denies Wrongdoing, Emphasises Compassionate Intent
In their public statement, the Khan family expressed deep distress over the accusations, particularly those involving Aamir’s mother Zeenat Tahir Husain, his sister Nikhat Hegde, and Aamir himself.
“Every choice regarding Faissal has been taken collectively as a family, in consultation with multiple medical professionals, and has been based on love, compassion, and a desire to support his emotional and psychological wellbeing,” the statement read.
The family revealed they had refrained from addressing these matters publicly to protect both Faissal’s privacy and the family’s dignity, but felt compelled to speak up after repeated misrepresentations.
United Front from the Khan Family
The statement was jointly signed by several family members, including Reena Datta, Junaid Khan, Ira Khan, Kiran Rao, Mansoor Khan, and others—signalling a united family stance. They also appealed to the media to respect their privacy and avoid sensationalising what they described as a deeply personal and painful chapter.
Faissal’s Counterclaims
In a recent interview, Faissal alleged that his mother and sister filed a case declaring him “dangerous to society” and claimed Aamir was “brainwashed” against him. Faissal, who is now living independently in Mumbai after disagreements with the family, maintains that he was wrongfully treated and targeted.
Family’s Stand on Mental Health Concerns
The Khan family, however, insists that all decisions were made with Faissal’s best interests in mind, guided by professional medical advice. They reaffirmed that their only goal was to support his mental health and help him lead a stable life.
A Sensitive Family Dispute in the Public Eye
This ongoing rift between the brothers has drawn public and media attention for years, but the latest exchange highlights the complex intersection of family relationships, mental health, and public scrutiny. While Faissal continues to voice his grievances, the Khan family remains steadfast in their position that their actions were acts of care rather than control.
With both sides holding strong to their narratives, it remains to be seen whether this deeply personal conflict can find resolution away from the glare of the public spotlight.
