The mega-star recently shot for his makeup man Deepak Sawant's second Bhojpuri film. "My first cameo in his Bhojpuri film got him some awards, etc. Now he's making a sequel. He has asked me to do a guest appearance in the second one."
The Big B is pleased by his last two releases. "My role in Shootout At Lokhandwala was brief but important. I was interestingly positioned. I acted almost as a sutradhar. In a sense I'm there throughout. In Jhoom Baraabar Jhoom I was the sutradhar again."
He then clarifies, "My role in Jhoom Baraabar Jhoom was just a song and a cameo.
It was a crisp film. Shaad is aesthetically very acute. Very flamboyant. Shaad is from a small town, Kanpur. He went to London for the first time to shoot in Jhoom Baraabar Jhoom.
So what he was the mind and aesthetics of a small-towner reacting to London's milieu. Whatever else Jhoom.... might have been it was a visual treat and a great deal of fun"
The Big B is now looking forward Ram Gopal Varma's Aag "The film is done. We watched the theatrical trailer the other day.And I must say I found it adrenaline-pumping.
It's Ram Gopal Varma's interpretation of Sholay...much like Sarkar which was his take on The Godfather. It's very interesting. I had a great time playing Gabbar. The way he has treated my character is mind-blowing."
As for being compared with the earlier Gabbar, "I don't mind the comparisons," says the Big B. "I welcome them."
Now AB shoots for Vivek Sharma's Bhootnath, Sujoy Ghosh's Alladdin and Leena Yadav's Teen Batti. "These will take me to the middle of the year. Bhootnath has Juhi, a child and Shah Rukh is doing a small cameo as Juhi's husband.
There's also a little work left in Rumi Jaffrey's God Tussi Great Ho. I've received Mira Nair's script for Shantaram. She has sent it simultaneously to me and Johnny Depp and wants my inputs. She'll be here at the end of June to set up everything.
But she has taken up my dates from the end of the year. So I'm pretty much tied up till the end of next year. I guess I'm lucky to be working so much at my age."
