"But re-invention and make-overs have been part of my acting repertoire long before they became fashionable. For Bhadhai Ho Badhai I had put on oodles of weight and for Musafir I had lost a lot of weight. My role in my new Yashraj Film Tashan required me to get rid of the hair on my chest."
And why pray tell, would the role of the villain in Tashan require the committed Kapoor to use hair remover for the first time?
"It was for the tattoos that I had to get done for my character. I've got them done on my back, chest, you name it. Some of them are in places I can't talk about," he grins.
Anil is certainly gone all-'ouch' for this part. "Yup. I still remember my co-star Dimple Kapadia had called me a barbar's delight after we shot a love-scene in Janbaaz. Wonder what she would have to say about the way I am now."
Anil wants to continue experimenting with his looks for his roles. "For every part that I play I want to create a new look for my character."
