You’re constantly conscious of being truthful and respectful. This wasn’t about creating a fictitious character or just making a horror show; it was about honouring someone’s real life and legacy,” he shares.

Reflecting on his preparation, Karan adds that his focus was never limited to paranormal investigations alone. He added, “I never wanted this to be only about ghosts or jump scares. I wanted to understand the man. Gaurav was just 32 when he passed. He was a pilot, a researcher, and a husband. While preparing, I wasn’t chasing fear references. I was thinking about his isolation. People who live around the paranormal carry a certain residue with them. I felt that on set. There’s a moment where I speak directly into the camera, and my voice shakes. Not because of the cold, but because it genuinely felt like I was being watched by the very person I was playing.”
