Despite decades of "Jhakaas" stardom, the veteran actor shared some hilariously grounding anecdotes about his life with his wife, Sunita Kapoor, and their children.
The "Which Movie?" Moment
Anil revealed that his family remains largely unimpressed—and sometimes even unaware—of his professional milestones.
The Anecdote: As he was leaving home for the trailer launch, he went to say goodbye to his wife. Her response? "Where are you going?" * The Confusion: When he explained he was headed for his film's trailer launch, she reportedly asked, "Which film?" * His Take: "She has no idea what’s happening in my professional life—and that’s the kind of family I come from. They treat me exactly the same as when I started my career."
Still Asking for "Pocket Money"
In a confession that won over the internet, the Subedaar star admitted he isn't the one holding the purse strings at home.
Cash on Hand: Anil quipped that even today, he has to ask his wife for cash before heading out.
The Quote: "Sometimes I even ask for ₹10,000–15,000 in cash before heading to a shoot. I still ask for pocket money, and I want it to stay this way."
On Grudges and Professionalism
Beyond the laughs, Anil shared some veteran wisdom regarding his relationship with the film's director, Suresh Triveni (who had previously turned down scripts from Anil’s daughter, Rhea Kapoor).
No Payback: When asked if he held a grudge, Anil was firm: "In our profession, if you have any resentment, you should channel it into your work... just forgive and forget."
Independent Children: He emphasized that he never interferes in his children's professional lives, noting that Sonam, Rhea, and Harsh Varrdhan are "even more independent" than he is.
