The Holi Vacuum: No Fresh Releases
For the first time in several years, the Holi weekend (March 3–4) went by without a single major new Hindi film hitting theaters.
The Reason: Producers reportedly avoided the slot due to the ongoing T20 World Cup, which is currently commanding massive television and streaming attention.
The Result: Into this vacuum, Kartik Aaryan’s "Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety" is making a strategic re-release tomorrow, March 6, to capitalize on nostalgia and the lack of new content.
The Kerala Story 2: Holi Lift vs. Predecessor
The sequel, The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond, emerged as the primary beneficiary of the holiday, though it remains far behind the original 2023 blockbuster.
Day 6 Performance: On Wednesday (Holi), the film earned approximately ₹3.50 crore. While this was a slight dip from Tuesday's ₹4 crore, it was a significant 60% jump from its Monday collections.
Total Tally: After six days, the film has netted ₹20.15 crore in India.
The Struggle: Despite the festive boost, it has earned less than one-third of what the first part did in the same timeframe (₹68.64 crore). It still needs to earn another ₹10 crore just to recover its ₹30 crore budget.
O Romeo: Flatlining in the Third Week
Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri’s romantic actioner is nearing the end of its theatrical run as it enters its 21st day.
Holi Performance: The film remained flat on Wednesday, adding only ₹70–90 lakh to its total.
Total Collections: Its 20-day domestic net stands at ₹57.45 crore (according to Pinkvilla) to ₹67.60 crore (according to Sacnilk).
Global Milestone: Despite the domestic struggle, its worldwide gross has crossed the ₹115 crore mark, making it Triptii Dimri’s second highest-grossing film globally.

The Calm Before the Storm
The current slowdown is expected to end abruptly on March 19, when Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge arrives. With Yash's Toxic now postponed to June, trade experts believe Dhurandhar 2 will enjoy an unprecedented solo run, potentially breaking opening day records for 2026.
