The NCW Drops the Hammer!: Nora Fatehi, Sanjay Dutt & 'KD' Makers Officially Summoned Over 'Sarke Chunar' Row!

The NCW Drops the Hammer!: Nora Fatehi, Sanjay Dutt & 'KD' Makers Officially Summoned Over 'Sarke Chunar' Row!
The 'Sarke Chunar' saga has officially escalated from a social media controversy to a serious legal matter! Just a day after the Indian Government confirmed a ban on the track and Nora Fatehi released a video distancing herself from the Hindi lyrics, the National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken strict, unprecedented action.

The Commission has officially stepped in, issuing direct summons not just to the makers of KD: The Devil, but also to the on-screen talent, demanding their physical presence in New Delhi.

Here is the complete breakdown of the strict NCW directives, the severe legal acts invoked, and who exactly has been called to face the music!

Taking 'Suo Motu' Cognizance ⚖️

The NCW did not wait for formal individual complaints to reach their desk.

The Statement: Exercising its powers under the NCW Act of 1990, the Commission took suo motu (on its own motion) cognizance of the widespread media reports regarding the "obscenity and vulgarity" in the Hindi dubbed track.

The Severe Charges: The NCW noted that the song's content prima facie appears to be "sexually suggestive and objectionable." In a major escalation, the Commission stated that the track potentially violates strict provisions under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the IT Act, and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The March 24 Deadline 🗓️

The Commission has made it clear that they are holding everyone involved in the production chain accountable.

Who is Summoned: Official summons have been issued to actors Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt (who feature in the video), lyricist Raqueeb Alam (who penned the Hindi translation), producer Venkat K. Narayana (KVN Group), and director Kiran Kumar (widely known as Prem).

The Directive: All the named individuals have been strictly directed to appear before the Commission on Tuesday, 24 March 2026, at 12:30 PM, along with all relevant documents and contracts.

The Warning: The NCW issued a stern warning, adding that "failure to appear may invite appropriate action as per law."

The Blame Game Continues 🗣️

The summons arrive right in the middle of a massive internal blame game among the film's team.

Nora's Defense: Nora Fatehi recently clarified that she shot the video three years ago in Kannada and had absolutely no idea about the vulgar Hindi dubbing. She stated she explicitly warned the director about the backlash when she finally heard it at the launch event.

The Lyricist's Defense: Similarly, Hindi lyricist Raqueeb Alam claimed he was forced by the director to do a literal, word-for-word translation of the original Kannada lyrics (written by the director himself) despite warning the team that the words would face heavy censorship.

The Verdict:

The inclusion of the POCSO Act alongside the BNS makes this one of the most severe legal actions taken against a Bollywood promotional track in recent memory! While Nora Fatehi and Raqueeb Alam have publicly tried to pass the blame solely onto the director and producers, the NCW's decision to summon the actors proves that the authorities are no longer willing to let on-screen talent completely wash their hands of the content they perform to.
