Just when you thought all angles of domestic strife have been covered by Indian television, along comes something that surprises you. Zee is all set to launch its latest offering – 'Naaginn – Waadon Ki Agnipariksha'. Yes, you guessed it – it is all about an ichadhari nagin!

This ichadhari nagin transforms herself to take revenge on the Rathod family. This is the same family that killed her parents to grab the (yes, you have guessed it again) invaluable Naagmani. She marries into the family, but is caught between her duties as a wife and a daughter, because she loves her husband.

Punit Goenka, Business Head, Zee TV, is riding high on Zee's successful shows over the past couple of years. He says, "We have always believed in creating subjects with the viewers' interest in mind.

The concept of a nagin has always been intriguing, because not many people know too much about an ichadhari nagin. I am confident that this show will appeal to them."

Set against a Rajasthani background, the serial will be aired on October 5, at 8. 30 pm. It is a tri-weekly – airing on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The cast includes Aroona Irani, Ali Hassan, Siddharth Dhawan and Shabaaz Khan, with Shayantani Ghosh in the lead role.
