Anupam Kher is on a new high.

Looking seriously at his global prospects Anpam has accepted a pivotal role in producer Ashok Amritaraj's The Other End Of The Line, a love story featuring an Indian girl in Mumbai from call center (yet to be finalized) who travels all the way to San Francisco to be with her American love-interest (Jesse Matcalfe).

"I met Ashok Amritraj some three years ago and was stuck by his global vision of cinema, " recounts Anupam whose next release is Pradeep Sarkar's Laga Chunri Mein Daag."When he narrated this script about a cross-cultural love story I was completed taken up by it. I wanted to be part of it."

Anupam who plays the Indian heroine's father says he has a sizeable role.

"If you remember I had played Parminder Nagra's father in Gurinder Chadha's Bend It Like Beckham. That was my first big international film. The Other End Of The Line will be shot in Mumbai and partly in San Francisco." "Meri Awaz Ko Mil Gayee Roshni" girl plays Kareena's sister! The beautiful girl dancing with Kareena Kapoor in the promos of the forthcoming "Jab We Met" is none other than Saumya Tandon, the star of the recent hit Star Plus soap, "Meri Awaz Ko Mil Gayee Roshni".

Saumya, who plays the character of Ria in the popular soap, is essaying the role of Kareena's sister who lives in the Punjabi town of Patiala in "Jab We Met".

"It's a short but significant role," she remarks. "And it's a complete no make-up look. The cinematographer asked me to wash off all my make-up on day one when I reported for shoot!" she laughs.
