Yearning to make films but stuck in a different profession? Perhaps, your dreams can find wings online through film-making contests.

There are some good sites that host online film competitions which give winners a chance to step into Bollywood, or better still, Hollywood. One such site is filmaka.in which held an online short film competition last month.

Popular blogging website, passionforcinema.com is also hosting a similar online contest of one-minute films. The entries will be judged by the likes of Sudhir Mishra, Anurag Kashyap and Onir. Winners may find themselves working with these reputed names.

Pritish Nandy Communications has gone a step further to offer feature films to the winners of The Shortcut, a contest on buzz18.com. The primary criterion is that the film should be less than 10 minutes in duration.

For those aiming higher than Bollywood, Ashok Amritraj holds open the gateway to Hollywood on pixtelevision.com. One has to submit a short film between two to four minutes and hope that he/she gets selected to participate in a reality show on the lines of The Apprentice. The winner gets to make a full-length feature.

So, all you techies, teachers and traders, if you are passionate enough about film-making just pick up a camera and start rolling!
