"The idea of doing the film has been put on hold. Aparnaji feels that role won't do justice to me. But we both would love to work together. I'd love to do a Hindi version of Aparnaji's Mr & Mrs Iyer. I even have the entire plot in my mind. Now Aparnaji needs to take a call."
Post-Partner and the glowing reviews it got him, Govinda says he's looking at several projects simultaneously. "I've been offered 12-13 scripts. But none of them grabs me immediately.
At this stage in my career I've to be fully enthusiastic about my work. Partner with my old friend David Dhawan is out. I can only thank him and Salman-bhai for working with me at a time when I was down and out.
Of course after Salaam-e-Ishq my career has improved. But there's a long way to go before I am back on my feet."
The project with Karisma Kapoor has Govinda curious. "Karisma called up David and expressed a desire to work with him again. That's when the idea of bringing us together again was born.
The project has to be worthy of both of us. Karisma has changed so much, for the better of course. I hope I've also changed for the better. Let's see what David designs for us."
In the meanwhile Govinda is planning to design a project for his 17-year old daughter Narmada. "Though she has been trained in jewellery designing I won't stop her from doing whatever she wants.
You know a year back when my family and I were a victim of a terrible car accident she came out of the operation theatre fearing she was disfigured. 'Papa will I be a problem for you?' she had asked me
. I has assured her she's a sher ki bachchi and she had nothing to fear. She proved me right. Not a scratch is visible on her face. Recently I held her hand and gave her the confidence to walk the ramp for designer Vikram Phadnis.
Now she does seem inclined towards acting. And I'm all for it. She's very young. Nowadays kids come into the industry quite young."
He pauses, and then says emotionally, "When I came into movies I had no guidance. Narmada has me to hold her hand. She's blessed. As for me I'm looking for reasons to feel blessed. And every day I surprise myself."
