Yes, we are talking about Ekta Kapoor, whose production house Balaji Telefilms has launched a slew of fresh soaps for viewers across ages.

Now, she would soon be coming up with her awards ceremony too which will be held in Dubai in the coming time. TWF correspondent Sami Jan chats up Ekta Kapoor.

What kind of show is Kucch Is Tarah?
Well, it's a show primarily targeted to youth. We have realized that apart from making saas bahu sagas we need to make programmes which will cater to the youth of today. My new show will have a lot of youth appeal an I'm sure the audiences are going to love it.

Your staple theme has been family drama only. Do we see you doing something new in the coming time?
Yeah, its true that we have been majorly making daily soaps and now we will be trying out new genres as well.

Currently, our strategy at Balaji is to make five new shows every year and with so many new channels coming up the demand has become really huge. We are also thinking of doing some reality shows in the coming time.

You have some shows coming up on the newly launched 9X, could you tell us more on that?
We at Balaji always strive to make the best possible entertainment shows and all our new launches have a fresh way of entertaining the audiences.

The new shows on 9X (the flagship Hindi channel of INX Network) will surely be another entertaining offering for the audiences.

Okay, what about your relationship with Smriti Irani, would you like to work with her again?
I have nothing against Smriti Irani and in fact I would not mind working with her again. She is a wonderful actress.

What is reason for your casting newcomers in every new show of yours?
Well, I guess it's far more exciting and challenging to work with newcomers since they bring in fresh energy and you can mould them in whatever way you want.

Moreover, the feeling of making stars out of newcomers is equally exciting.

Tell us about your upcoming awards?
Yes, it's a fact that we are planning to hold our own awards in the near future and the preparations are underway to make it the biggest and the best awards ceremony. The awards will be held in Dubai.
