PVR INOX Pictures, in association with Lionsgate Play India, is set to bring Primetime, the upcoming psychological crime thriller starring and produced by Robert Pattinson, to Indian audiences on 25th September. Directed by Lance Oppenheim in his narrative feature film debut, the film takes audiences behind the scenes of one of television’s most provocative crime-investigating programs and explores the blurred lines between journalism, entertainment, justice and public spectacle.

Set in 2006, Primetime follows television journalist Chris Hansen, portrayed by Robert Pattinson, as he sets out to make television history with To Catch a Predator. Inspired by the real-life television program, the film traces Hansen’s pursuit of a groundbreaking approach to crime reporting, where hidden-camera investigations and confrontations with suspected predators turned criminal investigations into a major television phenomenon.

At the centre of the film is Pattinson’s transformation into Chris Hansen, bringing a complex journalist to life as he navigates ambition, the pursuit of truth and the increasingly complicated relationship between crime and entertainment. As both the film’s lead actor and producer, Pattinson is closely involved in bringing this provocative story to the screen. Primetime marks Lance Oppenheim’s narrative feature directorial debut following his acclaimed documentary work. The film features an ensemble cast alongside Pattinson, including Merritt Wever, Skyler Gisondo, Matthew Maher, Bokeem Woodbine and Anna Faris.
