Mumbai: Singer Shilpa Joshi has released her latest song “Udeek,” a romantic track that beautifully captures the feeling of waiting for someone you love. The song explores love, longing and that little complaint that comes when you miss someone and simply want them by your side.
At its heart, Udeek is an affectionate conversation with someone who is away—a question wrapped in love and longing: how long are you going to make me wait? Rather than portraying romance through grand gestures, the song focuses on the quieter emotions of missing someone, wanting their presence and waiting for them to come closer.
Adding to the release is a special appearance by singer-songwriter Gurnazar Chattha, who features briefly in the song’s visual. His presence adds an interesting element to the music video and brings another familiar name from the Punjabi music space into the project.
The song features Dishant Gulia, while the lyrics, music and composition are by Oye Kunaal. Directed and choreographed by Shubham, the music video complements the song’s romantic and conversational mood.
Speaking about Udeek, Shilpa Joshi says, “Udeek is about a feeling that is very simple but very real—the feeling of waiting for someone you love. There is love, there is longing, and also that little complaint when you wonder how much longer you have to wait. I wanted the song to capture that emotion in a way people can relate to and feel.”
Udeek is now available to watch on YouTube, bringing together Shilpa Joshi’s vocals, a romantic narrative and a special appearance by Gurnazar Chattha in a song about one of love’s most familiar emotions—the wait.
