Reality shows, having celebrities from various walks of life unravel their hidden talents and innermost feelings before the camera, seems to be the new fad on television these days!

The success of reality shows like 'Nach Baliye' and 'Koffee With Karan' on Star, 'Jhalak Dikhla Ja' on Sony and 'Jhoom India' on Sahara One seems to have led NDTV Imagine and INX, two new TV channels on the general entertainment scene, to hop aboard the bandwagon of reality shows involving active participation of celebrities from television as well as other walks of life.

Scheduled to launch next month on NDTV Imagine is 'Say Shava Shava', a reality show which will have the favourite 'bahus', 'betis', 'bhais', patis' and 'khalnayaks' and will showcase before the public their untapped talent as 'singers'.

Noted television actors like Aman Verma, Apurva Agnihotri, Divyanka Tripathi, Juhi Parmar, Mouni Roy, Narayani Shastri, Pulkit Samrat and Sumit Raghvan will engage in a "fun- filled contest" for the title of the best singer.

Judging them in their singing ability will be ace director and television host Karan Johar, who makes his debut as reality show judge with this show.

Hosted by popular TV actor Ali Asghar, 'Say Shava Shava' is to be launched next month to coincide with the introducing of NDTV Imagine.

Speaking at a press meet in the capital this weekend to announce the show besides unveiling a host of programmes to be aired on the new channel, the CEO of NDTV Imagine Sameer Nair said,''the airing of 'Say Shava Shava' to coincide with the launch of NDTV Imagine is a part of our endeavour to bring to the viewers fresh and innovative content than what is being aired on other general entertainment channels today.

''Say Shava Shava'' is an outright entertainer. The contestants are established stars who will use all their talent to impress Karan and the audiences.''

Talking about his new role as the judge of a reality show, Karan Johar said''it's great to be back on television, albeit in a new avataar. it is something I have never done before and I'm really looking forward to it.''

In each episode of 'Say Shava Shava', the participant TV stars will sing their favourite songs and Karan, along with viewers across the country, will select the best singer from among them.

The participant with the least scores and votes will be eliminated.

'Say Shava Shava' will be produced by Contiloe Films Pvt Ltd.

Talking about the new channel, to be launched by the end of January, 2008, Sameer Nair said,''NDTV Imagine will offer programming across genres, randing from light hearted family soaps to period dramas and from high voltage music and dance entertainers to the most glamorous events in the entertainment business.''
