Aamir, clad in black sherwani, was accompanied by his wife Kiran at the red carpet premiere, held at the PVR multiplex in Select City of Saket here Thursday night.
"I have always believed in good scripts and this time too I have done so," he told reporters.
"This film is especially for parents... and youngsters who are going to be parents one day," he said with a smile, adding: "It is also for children... It is their story."
Asked to comment on the unofficial ban on his films in some Gujarat theatres, Aamir said: "I hope they will see this film, because it is a good film."
The mediapersons also surrounded Kiran, but she refused to take any questions.
Ajay Bijli of PVR, co-producers of the film, said: "We have worked hard on this film and we hope people will appreciate it."
The event was attended by Shweta Bachchan, Prasoon Joshi, Bina Ramani and Chetan Sheth among others.
