Last heard was that megastar Amitabh Bachchan and superstar Shahrukh Khan were being considered for ‘Slumdog
Millionaire', British director Danny Boyle's project set in India.
The film shot in Mumbai by the director of
‘Trainspotting', 'Shallow Graves' '28 Days and ‘The Beach', is a comedy centered around an illiterate kid from the
slums of Mumbai who looks to become a contestant on the Hindi version of ‘Who Wants to be A Millionaire', in order
to re-establish contact with the girl he loves, an ardent fan of the show.
It's reportedly an adaptation of Vikas
Swaroop's satire on consumerism entitled 'Q&A' about this kid who wins a fortune on a ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati' (KBC)
styled game show.
There has been no confirmation as to who between Shahrukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan is being chosen for the
role of the show host in the movie. But now there is a buzz that Anil Kapoor is being considered for the same
role.
"The final word will be out early next year, probably by February when the host portions will be shot," says a source
close to the film. Now it will be interesting to watch if Anil Kapoor actually scores over Big B and SRK in this
prestigious international assignment. Let's wait and watch!
