Q. How does it feel playing Jasmine – a character well known to every child?
A. I think I am the luckiest person as I got to play and be part of the famous and well-known story of 'Alladin'.
It is very exciting especially owing to the fact that this show is different from the regular ‘Saas-Bahu' soaps on television. The sets in this show are amazing and the costumes magnificent. You feel proud to be a part of this show.
Q. How has the character of Jasmine been treated in this show?
A. Jasmine is very innocent girl from her heart and she is very sweet. This character has different shades also. She is cute and innocent, but can also fight and goes on adventures. She can do anything. She is rich, but doesn't let others feel that she is rich.
Q. Is the story different from what we have seen or heard?
A. The story is the same and there are just a few changes or additions which the writers make while writing for a television serial. You can't expect everything to be the same.
Q. Are the parrot and monkey that were good friends of Jasmine also a part of this show?
A. Sadly, they are not a part of the show. I can't tell the exact reason why they have not been included in the story of this show.
Q. Instead of them you must have been given another best friend....
A. Yes, I have Noorie who is Jasmine's best friend. She is her confidante. Jasmine shares her feelings with her and they share a special bond.
Q. How is Mandar as ‘Alladin'?
A. Mandar is very good and hard working. He has worked very hard for this role. His features also look like ‘Alladin'. He was the perfect choice for this role.
Q. How is your relation with other co-actors?
A. Very good, we have become like a family by now. We are enjoying our shooting very much in each other's company. The pressure of shooting has become very less in such a friendly environment.
Q. How did you get this role?
A. I got a call saying that the auditions for 'Alladin' are on. I went there and gave a screen test and after that I was called for a look test and this is how I got this role.
Q. Which other projects have you done till now?
A. I have done a few commercials and print ads. I have also done a documentary '26th July at Barista'. And now, I am doing 'Alladin'.
Q. Did you plan that you will become an actress?
A. I have not had any such plan, but I was always interested in acting and wanted to be an actress. With this in mind, I started trying and now I am working as Jasmine.
Q. Would you like to tell us something about your family?
A. My family comprises of my parents, brother and sister and they have supported me a lot. Whatever I am today it is just because of them and their unconditional support.
Q. What about your studies, are you still studying?
A. I am in the final year of graduation and will be giving my exams straight. Whenever I get time from shootings, I give it to studies.
Q. What if you get a magic lamp?
A. When I was a kid I used to think so, that if I get a magic lamp, I will not have to sit for exams, but still pass. I used to dream such stupid things, but now being part of this show I feel very happy. -Sonu Anand
