After leaving cinegoers as well as people from the film world teary-eyed with a poignant tale of 'carefree childhood lost under societal norms of perfectionism' in his debut directorial venture 'Taare Zameen Par', Aamir will go bald for his latest production venture 'Ghajini', shooting for which resumed yesterday.

Writing on his blog, Aamir, whose directorial skills in 'Taare Zameen par' as well as his portrayal of the art teacher Ram Shankar Nikumbh earned him accolades galore from cinegoers and critics not only in India, but also abroad, said he would be shaving off his head for 'Ghajini', which features him in the lead.

''I will indeed be shaving off my head for Ghajini as around half the film requires me to,''Aamir said.

Aamir said shooting for 'Ghajini', a remake of the South Indian hit 'Pokkirri', which resumed yesterday in Mumbai.

The actor said after the release of 'Taare Zameen Par', he had, over the last month and a half, been busy on a lot of things, among them being work on the DVD of 'Taare Zameen Par', which is among the superhits of last year, having grossed over Rs 80 crore in eight weeks since its release.

''Work on the DVD release of TZP is progressing but a little slow. Be assured that I am working very hard to come out with the best quality and some really special extras,'' Aamir said.

Talking on the blog, Aamir admitted that he was doing Raju Hirani's film. Tentatively titled 'Idiots', the film is being produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, who earlier produced the films in the Munnabhai series as well as 'Parineeta' and 'Eklavya', India's nominee to the Oscars last year.

Aamir informed that even as 'Taare Zameen Par' was bagging a lot of nominations on the popular awards circuit, he stood by his resolve not to attend any film awards' functions.

''I'm afraid you won't be seeing me at awards' functions,''he said in a response to a query from one of his fans. Ever since its release, 'Taare Zameen Par' has won tremendous acclaim from critics and has bagged a lot of nominations at the Star Screen Awards, the Stardust Awards and the Filmfare Awards.

The film bagged as many as 17 nominations at the Star Screen Awards held last month, going on to win awards for Best supporting actor (Aamir Khan), Best lyricist (Prasoon Joshi), Best supporting actress (Tisca Chopra), Best story (Amole Gupte), Best director (Aamir Khan who shared the award with 'Chak De India'director Shimit Amin) and twin awards for Darsheel Safary, the eight-year old who had audiences in cinema halls in tears` with his poignant portrayal of the dyslexic child in 'Taare Zameen Par' - Best child actor and jury award for Best actor.

Infact, Darsheel has achieved what no other actor of his age has achieved in the history of Indian cinema - he has bagged a 'Best Actor' nomination at the Filmfare awards, to be held shortly.

Darsheel will be vying for the Best Actor trophy at the Filmfare awards, considered to be the Indian counterpart of the Oscars, along with superstars like Shahrukh Khan (nominated for 'Chak De India' and 'Om Shanti Om'), Akshay Kumar ('Namastay London') and teenage heartthrobs like Abhishek Bachchan ('Guru') and Shahid Kapoor ('Jab We met').
