Interestingly Anurag Kashyap lately filmed the 1992 serial blasts in Bombay in Black Friday.
Pandey has entitled his "realistic thriller" as Wednesday, the day when the gruesome catastrophe struck Mumbai. Besides Anupam Kher playing a a cop imvestigating the bombings the film puts the chameleon -like Naseeruddin Shah in the never-before role of the master-mind behind the train bombings.
The makers of Wednesday plan to release the film on August 15.
"I took on this role because I've never played anything like this before," says Naseer who, interestingly flies to London very shortly to do Jagmohan Mundhra's Shoot On Sight.
In stark contrast to Wednesday, in Shoot On Sight Naseer plays a Muslim cop whose 30 years of loyal service to the British police force is questioned after the July 7, 2005 suicide bombings in London.
The two back-to-back pictures give one of our most talented actors a chance to explore terrorism from both ends. They also prove cinema's increasing interest in exploring the anatomy of global terrorism.
