Riya Sen, who has been looking for her image change, will now be seen donning a nine-yard Maharashtrian sari in Gemini Studios' forthcoming film "Zor Lagaa Ke...Haiya", which is now almost complete. She plays a
village belle, playing a construction worker in the film.
When the role was offered to her, there was no reluctance, and the actress says she immediately agreed to do the role. "I always wanted to play a village belle," she says.
Producer Kartikeya Talreja says, "Riya was a bit reluctant but when we explained to her how it will be a good change for her, she agreed to do the film."
Did she meet some construction workers to learn their mannerisms and behaviour? "I have seen them all my life", Riya says.
With "Zor Lagaa Ke...Haiya", Gemini Studios is entering feature film production. The film, now nearing completion, is being produced by Kartikeya Talreja and written and directed by Girish Girija Joshi.
