Q. Do you think this type of competition based shows will take away the innocence from the children or will it boost their energy and self-confidence?
A. No, it will not take away their innocence, but will help in showcasing their talents in front of the country. The show will actually help them to boost their talents and self confidence to a higher level.
This is also a medium and besides studies, knowing music and dance is also similar to getting educated with knowledge. Most parents don't allow this but it should be encouraged as it is an industry now.
Q. What attracted you most when you first heard about the show?
A. The concept is the USP of the show wherein kids from both the cities and small towns are getting equal exposure. It is with children and it will give them a big platform to showcase their talents.
Q. What kind of songs are you selecting for the show? Will it be all filmy or something different?
A. No such thing, see we are the judges, but at the same time we are guiding them in the pattern of their singing, their tune and dance.
Q. It is said that even after winning these kind of shows, the winners don't get recognized, why?
A. Most important attribute that needs to be in an individual is the presentation. Also the person needs to have the capacity to pick up things quickly and cope with the new environment.
There wil surely be only one winner, but all in the contest will gain all along the show as they get to learn from their own mistakes and they get to know how they need to improve themselves..
Q. When you were making the music of Chak de India did you think that the song will become such a big hit after its release?
A. When we were offered the film, we were asked to make a sports anthem and when we were recording the song with Sukwinder, he felt that the song might be a hit song but honestly we did not think about it at all. I guess the lyrics of the song and the way it was presented was excellent.
Q. Any other projects you are working in ?
A. We are doing a film with Aditya Chopra named Raab Ne Banadi Jodi, then it is Fashion with Madhur Bhandarkar, Ashayan of Nagesh Kuknoor and a film with Karan Johar. - Sabir Rahaman
