Shomu Chaterjee, the very renowned director, writer and producer and father of Kajol and Tanisha breathed his last today morning.

The maker of some memorable movies like 'Sangdil Sanam', 'Pathar Ke Insaan', 'Ek Baar Muskura Do', 'Fifty Fifty' and 'Lover Boy' leaves behind his wife, Tanuja and two daughters.

The biggest irony is that his death happened just one day prior to the release of his son-in-law, Ajay Devgan's dream project 'U Me Aur Hum'.

It will be an understatement if we say that Kajol and Ajay Devgan have been striving really hard for the past few months to promote Ajay's debut film as a director, and now the whole family is left in despair just one day before the grand release of the film is a very sad part.

The mother-daughter pair of Tanuja and Kajol along with Ajay Devgan have been judging the reality show in Zee, Rock N Roll Family recently.

We hope the family comes out of this tragedy very soon!!
