Boney Kapoor will just have to find another director to do the needful. The sequel to Mr India which Nikhil Advani was supposed to direct for Boney, is no longer on. At least not with Advani at the helm.
Says Nikhil, "Very frankly, the offer had come to me at a very early stage. It happened like this. Anil Kapoor and I were shooting on a tube train for my film Salaam-e-Ishq when we got around to talking about the sequel to Mr India.
Suddenly Anil asked me if I'd be interested in directing the sequel. I said, why not? That's it. Beyond that I haven't been approached."
So where does that leave Boney's plans for making Mr India?
"Not very far, I'm afraid," says Anil Kapoor who played the title role. "In fact right now it does look pretty impossible to do a sequel to Mr India."
But Boney is adamant. "I don't care who's with me on this. But a sequel to Mr India will happen. It may take some time. But I will make it. For sure."
