The young and talented Megha Gupta has made a place for herself whether it be as Neeti in Kumkum, the officer role in CID, or as the scheming Satya Shrivastav in Mamta.!

The actress who is just 23 years old now plays a very pivotal role in NDTV Imagine's Rajshri Production serial, 'Mein Teri Parchayee Hoon'. Here is Megha talking about her career so far and future aspirations!

Q. You are in 'Main Teri Parchayee Hoon'. So are you happy with the kind of response it is getting?
A. Yes of course because even though the serial is slotted at the same time of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Teen Bahuraniyan, it is having an amazing TRP, so obviously the audience is liking the show which is very encouraging.

Q. What is your character in the serial?
A. The name of the character is Anchal, she is any other girl next door who is very ambitious. She has her Mama, Mami and a guy who likes her a lot. She wants to do fashion designing for which she goes to Mumbai to give her interview and then something happens which completely changes her life. Q. How close is the character to your real life?
A. It is not completely different from what I am; I am playing a 22 year old, a very bubbly chubby girl what I am also, but what happens after an incident is very different from my real life happening. Q. The story is not doing that well, so what do you think it needs currently?
A. I don't agree with that, because the serial is doing very well, it's got a TRP of 1.5 which is a very good TRP for a new show and a new channel and especially the time when it comes at 10:30pm when Kyun Ki Saas....and Teen Bahuraniyan goes on air.

The TRP after this is obviously a very good one and everyone is talking good about the show, so there is not a single thought in my mind that the show is not doing well. The show is doing very well and I am happy with that.

Q. How did you start your career?
A. I started my career in an event management company, then I started getting offers after which I took up Kumkum, then CID came along.

Q. Do you plan to be in television or you want to try in films also?
A. As such no, but if I get some good offers then I will definitely consider them. I am getting offers now also but they are not something for which I will leave my shows.

Q. What kind of films you want to do?
A. Anything that is good, it could be comedy, action or anything as long as I have something good to contribute.

Q. What one change you would like to bring in television?
A. No such changes, but there are some shows that I don't like to see which are having good TRP which means that people like it. I think it would like to see more of the comedy shows rather than the usual saas-bahu ones.

Q. You always wanted to be an actor? If not an actor what would you have been?
A. I did not want to be an actress, it happened to me accidentally. If not an actor I would have been a cook or an event manager.

Q. Have you done any acting course?
A. No, I have not done any acting course.

Q. Five years from now, where do you see yourself?
A. I want to continue doing good work, I want to keep working and that could be television or films or ads. I am fine as long as I am working somewhere.

Q. Any other projects you are working in?
A. No, I am doing only this show as of now. If there are some good options, then I would definitely take that up.
