After Akshay Kumar in Singh is Kinng, Ranbir Kapoor has been chosen to play the role of a Sikh, in Shimit Amin's next film for Yash Raj, because of his Punjabi background.

Coming from the director who gave the last year's superhit Chak De India , this project is being carefully kept under wraps by the production house that is quite known for gagging its actors and production team from speaking to media about the film.

However, whatever information that has trickled out suggests that Ranbir has even done a trial of his look in the film. He will reportedly wear a turban for his role. He'll play a young Sikh who goes through a series of incredibly bitter-sweet incidents, which eventually leads to an explosive state of self-realisation.

Ranbir is presently shooting the Yashraj film Bachna Ae Haseeno with director Siddharth Anand in Europe.
