Ajay Chandok, the chief assistant to almost all films by David Dhawan, started his individual career of director with his 2005 film Nehle Pe Dehla. The well experienced director is going to make his comic hat-trick with his soon to be released flick Khalbali Hai Khalbali.

Being asked about the specialty of Khalbali... Ajay promptly replies, "The most important part with this flick is the presence of thirty veteran actors who are all known for their comic screen presence. It, I guess, is the USP of the film."

And how was it difficult or interesting directing all these thirty comic stars? "I really enjoyed working with them as most of them were already my friends and I made friendship with the rest of them as soon as we started shooting. And the most important thing is that it all came out very well", Ajay explains smilingly.

Having spent so much time with the king of comedy David Dhawan, it's very natural for Ajit to have a comic tooth. But in today's global scenario, as actors are trying their luck with any possible character, directors are also trying their hand with any possible genre.

What's the reason that Ajay is not following that accepted vogue of trying hand with other genres than comedy? "Actually, while I was with Davidji, he used to get comedies only. I guess, now it has become our brand.

Everyone meets me with comic subject only," Ajay continues explaining, "it's not that I'll make just comedies. In recent future I'll try my hand on action and romantic flicks, also."

Talking about his hero, Nikhil Dwivedi, the lead of My Name Is Anthony Gonsalves, Ajay says, "Genre hardly matters for an excellent actor.

In this way Nikhil is not only a better actor but also an excellent human being. And the best part is he is a director's actor."

Sada, the South India actress, has started her career in Bollywood with Khalbali... Ajay completes his opinion on Sada in one line saying that she is excellent actress besides the fact that she is a good girl also.

But Ajay didn't allow anything regarding the film. He thinks it's too early to talk about the film. He has only mentioned that the film is totally shot in Bangkok and is based on two hotels. At the same time Ajay describes the film as a remake of a hit South flick made in the year 2005.

Ajay believes that he is mostly influenced and taught by David Dhawan and it's very usual having Dhawan's reflections on his style. What would Ajay like to inherit from Dhawan? "He is the best editor and if I have the chance I would like to inherit his editing style," smiles Ajay.

For the time being, Ajay has two films, Chatur Singh To Star and Team - The Force, in his bag to shoot. As the title suggests Chatur Singh... is an out and out comic flick in which audience will enjoy Amisha Patel and Sanjay Dutt's togetherness once again after Tathastu.

On the other hand Sohail Khan will join the force of the action comedy Team – The Force.- Rajnee Gupta
