With his films in the year gone by managing to do a collective business of 100 crores, he managed to see some good success coming his way as well.
Now in 2008, he would be seen on the big screen for the first time with DE TAALI, a comedy that features him along with Aftab Shivdasani, Ayesha Takia and Rimmi Sen.
While the music by Vishal and Shekhar has met with a good response, especially the promotional title song which is currently on air, Ritesh is also particularly excited about 'Maari Teetri', a number which should be on the music channels soon.
A potential success in the making, 'Maari Teetri' is rendered by Raja Hasan who was the 1st runner up on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge (2007).
With a rustic folk feel to the song that has been fused with Western arrangements, 'Maari Teetri' has a catchy tune and in fact comes quite close to 'Dil Haara' in terms of feel, mood and setting.
Says Riteish Deshmukh, "We recently shot the song in ND studios at Karjat, the same place where JODHAA AKBAR was shot. The way we have gone about capturing the folk essence of the song, it has turned out to be huge."
The song moves at a frantic pace and can be a highlight of the film if picturised and promoted well since Raja Hasan pretty much justifies his presence in the track.
"That's true. A lot depends upon choreography for a song like this. However, I am confident that we have been on the right track for this one. Our choreographer along with director E Niwas have done well in making this song big", agrees Ritesh.
Incidentally the song neither features Ayesha Takia nor Rimmi Sen and instead features a new girl who matches steps with Ritesh and Aftab.
Well, we are waiting to see how 'huge' the song really turns out to be now! - Joginder Tuteja
