She was Ajnabi in her first film but soon Bipasha Basu became familiar to all Indian movie buffs. She also broke the common conviction that models cannot succeed in films.

Model turned Actress Bipasha Basu who is better known as ‘Mehbooba', symbolic to her record-breaking song, says, "It's great for a model to be an actress because Hindi films offer different kind of fame, more money and larger name but dancing in films is very difficult. I never did that in modeling." Then she confides, " Actually I am scared of dancing" ‘Chor Machaye Shor' is Bipasha's soon to release film. In this film she plays the role of a police inspector. "It's fantastic to work with Director David Dhawan. This film is going to be a thriller mixed with comedy, action and fun," reveals Bipasha. She calls this movie a first time experiment with comedy for her as well as Bobby Deol who has a strong image of Action hero.

Regarding her co-star Bobby Deol Bipasha feels that they tune well on screen and the viewers are going to like this pair. Becoming a doctor was her dream but destiny had planned a different destination for her. It happened to be modeling and now acting is her career.
