Q. What qualities would you look for in your man?
A. Firstly it will be honesty, true commitment and straightforwardness. I think everyone wants their life partner to be like that.
Q. Your take on 'love at first sight'...
A. I don't believe in love at first sight because it has never happened to me. I think at the first time you don't know the person. I am a kind of person who would like to know the person before falling into a relationship. I think crush at first sight sounds much soothing (laughs).
Q. Your first crush?
A. My first crush was Mr. Amitabh Bachchan.
Q. Do you believe in going out on dates to know a person?
A. I am a very shy person, so I think if someone asks me for a date, I will refuse but if he is a friend and I know him very well then I may go.
Q. Should your man woo you with flowers and all the other chivalrous trappings?
A. I love flowers and chocolates a lot, so I think I am very easy to impress (laughs).
Q. Is it possible to find the perfect man?
A. Umm... no! (Laughs), I think everyone is human and you can't expect your partner to be perfect in all the way.
There may be some ways in which he feels good and some not, so I think you have to accept the person the way he is and if you are in love you should not put conditions in front of him. You have to give him the chance and have to make him understand if things are not working out.
Also I don't expect my partner to be a perfect one because I have my own drawbacks and one should love me the way I am.
Q. There is a lot of talk about giving space in a relationship, what's your definition of space?
A. If a person is sticking around you, I think it is really a bore kind of a thing. I think giving space in a relationship is very important.
If I am in a relationship, I would like to have my own time with my friends and also while taking decisions as I am very independent.
Even for the other person in my life, I feel the same way as he, too, has his own life. So I would like to give my life partner his own time with his work, his friends and all.
Q. Would parental consent be important?
A. I'm a very family person. So, while taking decisions I will obviously take my parents' consents and advices. I won't do anything against the decision of my family.
Q. What do you think about the institution of marriage?
A. It is very beautiful bonding between two persons and their families. I like the whole idea of marriage. I think Indian wedding is really very beautiful and obviously the whole idea of saat phere, is exciting. I totally believe in the institution of marriage.
Q. What would you do if your man turned out to be a gay?
A. Huh! That will be the greatest shock and obviously I won't take on with that relationship. I will just run away. It will be too devastating to leave. Q. Is sense of humor a must?
A. Yes, it is a must because I think it really helps if a person has a good sense of humour. He will be able to take things lightly and I like guys with good sense of humour.
If he can make me laugh and smile I think he scores 10 out of 10. At least he should be able to get a smile on my face when I am in the worst state of mood.
Q. Is there a Mr. Right hiding in the closet?
A. No, (laughs) I am just looking for him and I hope that I find him very soon. - Sabir Rahman
