Anita Hassanandini to play Draupadi

Actress Anita Hassanandini, who has acted in films like 'Kuch To Hai' and 'Krishna Cottage', has been chosen to play the role of Draupadi in Ekta Kapoor's mega serial 'Kahani Hamare Mahabharat Ki'.

Anita is said to have beaten popular TV actress Gauri Pradhan in the race to bag the coveted role.

The mega serial is scheduled to go on air Aug 15 and the actress, who is excitedly waiting for the narrations to begin, is studying the character well by reading the Hindu epic 'Mahabharata', a release stated.

Anita, who was also seen in Balaji Telefilm' 'Kabhi Sautan Kabhie Saheli', is working on her looks and has started growing her hair to get into the skin of the character.

The actress made her Bollywood debut with the 2003 horror film 'Kuch To Hai' produced by Balaji Telefilms, followed by 'Krishna Cottage' (2004) and 'Koi Aap Sa' (2005).

She played the protagonist in the serial 'Kavyanjali'.
