After the stupendous success of Sonu Nigam`s Deewana much was expected of Sajid Wajid in Shararat. However barring a few songs none of the other songs register or leave a lasting impression.

The Sonu Nigam number Dil Kehta Hai starts the album with a bang. Nothing too great except Sonu`s spirited singing. The Instrumental version of the same song is much better and the ends the album on a good note. Kuchh Tum Kaho, which is the other Sonu solo, sounds very much like a pop song but it is a pretty good number and makes for a second hearing.

Ek Ladki Mujhe is the best song of the whole album. With soft pleasing music and able singing by Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik, it proves to be very good listening. Strong techno beats and orchestration mark Mehki Hawaon Mein which has two talented singers Sonu and KK pairing up with each other. A timepass song, nothing more.

The first two songs of Side B are an absolute delight to hear simply because of the singing. In Yeh Main Kahan Sonu, Anupama Deshpande and especially Hariharan are superb. He is simply brilliant in disguising his voice well and sounding so very different. Mastana Albela follows the same mould and here too Hariharan is absolutely amazing Sanjeevani, Shraddha Pandit and a host of other singers give him able support. The next song is completely different. Na Kisi Ki Aankh Ka is a ghazal of Bahadur Shah Zafar. Talat Aziz does complete justice to this wonderful work of poetry.

An average effort but sparks of talent from the Sajid Wajid duo in some numbers make us want to give it a decent hearing.
