The first one is a Swiss-German film named Tandoori Love, while the second one is a Turkish film titled Meera. Understandably, Shweta is very excited.
"In Tandoori Love, I am playing a Bollywood actress. Vijay Raaz is also in this film, " says Shweta. But what is the film all about?
"The story is about a film unit which goes to Switzerland and the different situations they encounter there. It is a riot of laughter, " Shweta adds, "I am paired opposite a German guy in the movie. In the movie, when I reach Switzerland no one recognises me as Indian films are not so popular there.
That is when my Indian cook (played by Vijay Raaz) runs away with a girl. There I meet a guy who is the owner of a restaurant and we fall for each other. It's a romantic comedy, but everyone in the family will be enjoying it."
According to the actress, this film, directed by Oliver, is going to be released in various film festivals. The Turkish movie, on the other hand, will see Shweta play the role of an Indian princess.
"In this movie I have not been shown as a typical princess but I am a normal girl, who goes to study abroad. Suneil Shetty is playing my bodyguard in the movie.
We have mostly shot in Istanbul, " informs an excited Shweta. So does it mean goodbye to television? "Not at all. If anything exciting comes up I will surely consider that, " says Shweta.
"Though the role of Nikki gave me all the fame, few people know that I have done a very good role in Shagun as well, where I played the role of Aarti. And there are many people who come to me even now and talk about my work in Shagun, " explains Shweta.
Does she repent being a part of Dekho Magar Pyar Se where she had worked for less than a year and then had to be replaced by some other actress?
Shweta responds with elan, "Not really. This role started affecting my health a lot. And since Dekho Magar... was an adaptation from a Spanish show and beyond a point could not manage good viewer surveys, it was good that I left midway!" says Shweta.
She takes a pause and concludes saying, "I am glad I left the show". -Srabanti Chakrabarti
