UTV acquires rights to premiere two blockbusters of 2008

Hindi channel UTV Movies has acquired the rights for the television premiere of 'Jodhaa Akbar' and 'Jannat' - the two biggest blockbusters of the year.

The channel will also premiere Rajeev Khandelwal's debut film 'Aamir' on television within six weeks of its release. Following that would be movies like Rajkumar Santoshi's 'Halla Bol' in July.

'We have already premiered some of the latest Hindi blockbusters on our channel, and shall continue to be the fastest to air the latest. We will continuously update our library with the latest titles.

''Jodhaa Akbar', 'Jannat' and 'Aamir' are the most recent examples of this, ' Shantonu Aditya, CEO of UTV Entertainment Television Limited, said in a statement.

The channel has earlier premiered on television blockbusters like 'Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal', 'Aap Ka Surroor' and 'Life in a Metro'.
