The shorter the better seems to be the new Bollywood mantra. Not only are dresses getting shorter and necklines plunging like never before, but even hair styles are getting shorter and trendier.

Preity Zinta was the first one to introduce the chic, cool look in Bollywood. That followed the meteoric rise in her stock post Dil Chahta Hai. The Godrej refrigerator advertisements cashed in on Preity`s new look. Her colleague Urmila Matondkar surprised everybody when she sported the short hair style at a party hosted by iDream Productions to celebrate the success of Bend It Like Beckham. The latest to join the bandwagon is Raveena Tandon.

It`s not just actresses who are experimenting with their hair style. Of late Fardeen Khan has been sporting a trendy spiky hairdo as well.
