This was clearly visible in his last comedy flick Mere Baap Pehle Aap in which his dialogue delivery and expressions didn't had the kind of comic punch that his co-stars enjoyed throughout the film. But this doesn't seem to affect Om Puri much.
"I believe I would have given a better performance in the film. But in the end I am happy as the cheque I got for the film was huge, " laughs out Om Puri.
The veteran actor admits that big money involved in commercial cinema took him away from the arties. "I enjoy working in commercial cinema because I bring a lot of money home due to it. Looking at my huge chques gives me utter satisfaction.
Frankly, it is only because of money that I opted for commercial cinemas rather than arty ones, " shares Om Puri.
We do understand Om Puri sahab that money power indeed can attract any individual. But the kind of image you have created for yourself, you need to be choosier in case of films and also concentrate hard on your character for which you have been known for in the past. After all artist's satisfaction lies in performing art only!
