'In terms of treatment of the story and character development, it is inspired by 'Die Hard'. But 'Hijack' is not a copy of 'Die Hard', ' said Shivdasani.
Kunal, who has filmed more than 300 ads over a period of 10 years, said he will offer the audience a Hollywood looking film laced with Indian emotions.
'The story is very simple and anyone would understand, but the look, feel and style are Hollywood bound. It is an international package in our own language, ' added the first time director.
Kunal has roped in his old friend Shiney Ahuja to play main lead. He will feature as an airport maintenance officer in the movie about terrorism.
'I knew him when he was a model. I shot many ads with him. It is during that time I told him that whenever I make a film, we would work together.'
Shiney said: 'We have worked in several ads like Konica, Hero Honda and Sunsilk. It was more of a home production and I never felt that I was working.'
About his role, Shiney said: 'I am playing the role of a father who takes the difficult task of rescuing his daughter from the clutches of terrorists. I have some mind blowing action sequences which will definitely surprise the audience.'
Besides Shiney, the cast of the film includes Esha Deol as an air-hostess. K.K. Raina plays the main antagonist and Kaveri Jha will feature as Shiney's wife.
The film is set for Aug 29 release and has been produced by Aleya Motion Magic.
