Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan will return to the small screen to continue his hit game show Kaun Banega Crorepati on Star Plus.Initially, the producers of KBC had planned to replace the show with another game show featuring Bachchan. But according to the chief operating officer of the channel, Samir Nair, the organizers decided to continue KBC in the light of its popularity with the masses.

The channel has signed a contract with Bachchan for 85 new episodes of KBC. However, to kick-start the show again, some reruns from the earlier episodes will be telecast until the end of the year, after which the fresh episodes would begin. Moreover, to expand audience participation, the organizers of the program are introducing a new concept in which the television viewers would get a chance to reply to the questions via SMS through mobile phones. The 10 participants with the right answers will win Rs.1,00,000 each.
