Q. Tell us something about your film C Kkompany...
A. C Kkompany is a very sweet lovely and entertaining film based totally on common men's character. The film is based on situational comedy where every character is having their own problems and how all the different happenings takes place with them and their surroundings while they try to fulfill their dreams.
The comedy occurs as the characters along with the people in their surroundings don't know how to get out of it.
Q. What is your character all about?
A. My character's name is Lambodar Jha who is a common family man and faces with the same problem of survival. He is fighting for his identity and is in a complex state because of his short height. But the main base of the film is entertainment and situational comedy.
Q. What's that one thing in the film which attracted you the most?
A. I liked the story of this film a lot. It's a very balanced film and the music of the film is also very good which helps the film through out.
Q. Any interesting incident you can recall happening on the sets?
A. Every day is a new day and new experience all together. Especially when you are doing a film based on situational comedy, every time something or the other keeps happening and we keep laughing all the time.
Q. How was it working with debutant director Sachin Yardi?
A. He is a very good interpreter and a funny guy. From day one he took good care of the mood, the emotions and feelings of all the characters. He is a very good performer also and had the film printed in his heart.
Q. What is the USP of the film?
A. The story. Enjoy the film laughing all the way with your family having popcorns, cold drinks, go home laughing and go to sleep having nice food (laughs).
Q. Do you put your thoughts and ideas on any of your scripts and characters you play?
A. No, I just follow the director and if I feel some improvisation should be made on it then I do it after discussing it with the director. Otherwise it will be like interpreting with the story and its journey.
I totally surrender myself to director as a good student and if some ideas come and if the director likes it after discussing it then only I put it otherwise not.
Q. You are so good in comedy...
A. To be true brother, I have not done comedy till now. I have only performed the character given to me. Because if I do comedy keeping it in mind then comedy will get lost and it will be mere carry taker. I feel the character and try to give complete entertainment to my audiences through my performance.
Q. What kind of films you want to do now?
A. Now I want to do good films and am looking for increasing the quality of films rather than the quantity. If I can communicate with the role offered to me then only I will go for it.
Q. Any plans of get into production or direction?
A. Nothing like that now. I have attained the position where I can choose a lead or supporting role. Now I want to concentrate more on my work as an actor. My hunger for acting is still there and it will take time to get over it.
Q. Today as films are been produced in such a large quantity, don't you think creativity is getting lost?
A. Creativity is not getting lost anywhere. Today cinema has taken such a shape where many people are getting a chance to show their work and talent. We have audience for all kind of films from commercial to off beat and every idea and creative work is been accepted by the audiences today.
Q. Your up coming projects...
A. I am doing films like Kushti, Don't Worry Be Happy, and many more. There are around 10 to 12 projects lined up till 2009. - Sabir Rahman
